One-week’s stay in Ittoqqortoormiit village will give you a good opportunity to observe and learn of the life in a typical Inuit village, where hunting is still important to the existence of the small community with the population of about 570 people. There is a choice of different activities which you can take part in during your stay in Ittoqqortoormiit.
Options in winter time:
* daytours by doglsledge to the other two small villages (Kap Hope and Kap Tobin (April, May, June)
* or to the the ice-edge where the hunters stay during seal hunting.
* a two-day excursion to Kap Hoegh
* on cross-country skis 7 km each way to the village of Kap Tobin.
If time does not allow you to stop the whole week, it is also possible to stay 3 nights (from Wednesday to Saturday), or 4 nights (from Saturday to Wednesday) – depending on flight schedules.
For optional tours and purchases it is best to have Danish kronurs. Cash withdrawal with credit cards is available at the local post office.
Polar Bears are not strangers to this part of the world. When you decide to go off on your own, please let someone know about your programme, and at all times carry signal flares when walking alone. They can be purchased at the KNI store.

* Helicopter transfer from Ittoqqortoormiit to Constable Point.
