A Touch of Greenland
Tour ID: GA02
Kulusuk is the gateway to East Greenland and this small settlement is an excellent introduction to the way of life in Greenland today. The village has about 375 inhabitants. For them traditional hunting and fishing are still essential sources of income, but lately tourism and service industries are becoming increasingly important. The Inuit hunting culture is much in evidence in the village and many still rely on dog sledges and harpoons although more modern means have also been adopted.
Many handcrafted artifacts have their origin back in older times and some of these can be bought in the local village store.
